Curtis was called in a church summer camp when he was 14 years old. His only concern that week was finding a girlfriend and had no idea what God had in store for him. When he went to the preacher for prayer, the preacher told him to run to the altar and receive what God had for him. Curtis ran so hard to the altar that he knocked kids over on the way. God told him that he was being called into the ministry. Curtis knew a little about ministry from his grandfather, but had no idea what the calling meant. He tried to define what ministry was by his own interpretation and what other people told him. He tried many things and led different ministries, but nothing seemed to fit. It was not until Curtis started diving into God’s Word and submitting his life to God that he found out what God wanted him to do. Curtis has a deep hunger and thirst for learning God’s wisdom. He loves learning the mind and logic of God. He knows he can never truly fully know and understand God, but knows that everything he will ever need to know or understand in this life comes from the never-ending pursuit of God and a relationship with Him.

April has been called since she was in her mothers womb. Throughout the years, she questioned the calling. She questioned it because of it was the people around her that told her it and she never heard for herself. God graciously confirmed the calling again when she was a teenager. God told her that she knew she was called into evangelism through the pastor of the church during prayer. That was more than enough for her. She went to Bible College to learn how to be an Evangelist, but the Devil threw everything he had at her and tried to discourage her. Through the grace and mercy of God, she has decided to stop listening to what people around her say and focus on what God says to her. She is a loving wife and mother and she wants to reach everyone in the world she can for Christ. April has a heart for people that don’t know Christ. When people come forward to receive Christ, April will cry out of pure joy.

Curtis and April met at Bible college in Springfield, Mo. April was a sophomore and Curtis was a freshman. They became friends and hung out with a close group of friends. They both became engaged to other people and had plans for their life. Then, over a summer vacation, both of their relationships ended abruptly. April was visiting her
family in Florida and she booked a flight to come back early for school and Curtis stayed on campus for the summer. Curtis and April wanted to help each other during this troubling time and walked around the campus talking about what happened to them. They learned a great deal about each other. They got to know each other on a more personal level, but did not see the relationship that was building right in front of their eyes. Curtis always thought April was beautiful and loved spending time with her.

In January, Curtis asked April to go on a date. However, April was working as well as going to school at the time. It was hard for her to find time for anything, and could not go because she worked. When
she told this to Curtis, he took it as she did not want to go on a date with him. A week went by and April didn’t hear anything from him. She thought this was odd and messaged him. She asked him when they
were going to schedule the date and she gave him her schedule of when she was available. He then realized he was wrong about the situation. So, they went out on a date. Since they already had a deep friendship
built and already knew each other, they fell in love quickly and got married eight months later. On August 1st of 2008, they were married and their new journey together started.

As of August 1, 2024 Curtis and April have been married for 16 years and God blessed them with two beautiful children. They have decided to submit themselves to the Will of God and have decided to serve God with the gifts and abilities He has entrusted them with. April loves God’s spirit, His mercy, grace and His genuine love for everyone. Curtis is passionate about learning more of God’s wisdom, character, mind and logic. Together Curtis and April feel like their God given passions and gifts will help them fulfill their God given part of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). Bringing the Gospel of Jesus to people of the world and disciplining them to have a deeper and more fulfilling relationship with God.

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.  They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.  But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry."
